Instrument Setups
As a new breed of Sax player, I have found that I have tended to prefer Japanese makes such as Yamaha and Yanagisawa, although I do not doubt the quality of Selmer products, when Im happy with something I tend to stick with it!!.

Instrument Setup
I curretly use a YTS85 custom Tenor. The Yamaha although not the cheapest Yamaha offers excellent all round sound and superb spring action to give an excelllent balance for Solo / small group work to Big Band & Rock solos.

I currently opt for Otto link 6* or Bari Gold .10, depending on the sound required & sometimes even the mood im in!!!. I currently use Daniel's strength 3 reeds. Or Vandoreen V16.

On Alto I currently play on a selmer series III black & gold with selmer mouthpeice using Vandoreen V16 3 Reeds.
On Soprano I alternate between Yanagisawa and the Elkheart black & gold series 300 which is becoming an excellent instrument for both students & muscians alike!!

Mouthpeices
Like most Sax players I find the search for the perfect mouthpeice like the search for a perfect women a little hit and miss, and most just dont catch the imagination enough.

I have used otto link mouthpeices for sometime now and have found there ability to offer the best consitancy accross genres an must for any professional, the alternative is a number of mouthpeices!!.

I currently use an Otto link on both Tenor & Soprano. I have recently purchased a Bari Gold mouthpeice for tenor & I can highly recomended. On Alto I use the standard plastic Selmer mouthpeice which is an excellent mouthpeice for the price.
